What dental insurance plans do you accept?

We presently are in network with most major dental plans such as Delta Dental, MetLife, Aetna, Cigna, and Principal. If you have a different insurance provider, please feel free to call us at 207-370-0575 to see if we accept your coverage as well!

What if I don't have any dental insurance?

Dental Care should not be neglected due to finances. We understand that not everyone has access to a dental insurance plan. This is why we also accept non-insurance patients too. We offer 3rd party financing and we also participate in the “Kleer Discount Dental Plan,” which includes cleanings, exams, and routine dental x-rays for a flat annual fee in addition to discounts on extra dental care services. Are you accepting new patients?

Yes! We are currently accepting new patients. Click on the "Make an appointment" button on our homepage and you can see the next available new patient appointment times that are updated daily. That said, it may take a couple weeks to get you in for your first appointment. If you have an urgent need, such as a broken tooth or dental pain, please call us and we will do everything we can to get you in as soon as possible.

What types of dental care do you offer?

We offer what is broadly referred to as ”general dentistry services.” This means we handle all your routine dental care, such as exams, cleanings, x-rays, fillings, crowns, full and partial denture work, root canals, extractions and so on. At times though, there may be treatment that warrants a specialist such as an extraction of an impacted wisdom tooth. In a situation like this your dentist may refer you to a dental specialist, in this case, an Oral Surgeon. So if the dentist deems a treatment a "little more complicated" for the general practitioner, they may refer you to a specialist. (You wouldn't want your family physician doing heart surgery on you, would you?)

Where is Dental Wellness of Portland located?

Dental Wellness of Portland is located in the Hannaford Shopping Plaza, Back Bay. Our address is 295 Forest Ave, Portland, ME 04101. Your GPS should bring you into the Hannaford Shopping Plaza. When facing Hannaford, we are the far left unit in the plaza, closest to the water.

We are conveniently located right off of Rt 295, exit 6B, the Forest Ave exit. When exiting off of exit 6B, enter the shopping center to your right, drive (slowly) past the Hannaford and we are the end unit.
